Covid-19 Business Support

We're collecting resources and information to keep the commercial passenger vehicle and transport industry up to date with the latest business and individual support options available during the Covid-19 crisis.

about taa

In September 2019 Commercial Passenger Vehicle Association of Australia changed its name to Transport Alliance Australia to better represent the diverse commercial passenger vehicle industry, including taxi, hire car, rideshare and other on demand transport options. TAA works to give a voice to members in state and federal government. Our objectives:

  • to consider and deal with all questions and issues involving the commercial passenger vehicle industry;
  • promote, support and propose legislative or other measures affecting the commercial passenger vehicle industry;
  • campaign to improve driver/owner remuneration levels;
  • protect the rights of drivers, owners, operators, networks and booking service providers in this industry;
  • promote ideas and programs to assist in maintaining a high industry standard for TAA members.

UBER CLASS ACTION

TAA has been active in bringing a class action against Uber with Maurice Blackburn lawyers on behalf of participants in the taxi, hire-car, limousine and charter vehicle industry.  We urge all  taxi and hire car drivers, operators and licence owners to register their interest.

Timeline Photos7 months before the last State election in November 2018 we formed a political party, Transport Matters and with your help we managed to win a seat!

We should not underestimate the significance of what we achieved!
We have achieved a lot, and together we have much to be proud of.

We have done this on our own, no one in this Parliament has kept the issue of taxi and hire car issues alive as we have.

The Government has now recognised our position and has appointed Rod to an advisory group to make recommendations directly to the Transport Minister. On Covid 19 response, those recommendations are now before the government and we are waiting on their response.

We will also be making recommendations in response to the inquiry into the 2017 reforms.

Rod cannot continue without your support, we must maintain our membership base so we can keep our status as a political party.

We need you to renew your membership and encourage your friends and families to join.

To join go to www.transportmatters.org.au/join

Will you support Rod while he fights for you?

Government has also announced industry support for a range of industries ranging anywhere from complimentary safety equipment to business continuation grants and most recently “cancelled booking” subsidies. Any likelihood of anything being directed our way?
